Eve's Choice

Have you ever wondered...

why is going green so hard?

And

expensive!?!

So, you want to go “green”, but honestly, what is green anyway, it means different things to different people. There is no official legal definition so companies can use it as they wish, so it’s no good going to them for a definition.

Every website you will visit of course advertises what they do, but between all the lines of great eco-credentials what they don’t do has to be surmised by the consumer. And now once again it is down to the individual who gets pushed from pillar to post to spend time and money trying to make the world a better place. The consumer has been blamed for the state of things for far too long; the individual made to feel bad for the piles of rubbish they throw away after unpacking their shopping when it should be that the company is expected to keep the packaging they use to the absolute minimum. and when you do finally find a company that isn’t as bad as the rest it often comes with a premium price tag!

Here at Eve’s Choice, we have broken ‘Green and Eco’ down into five major categories and their effects on the environment:

Pollution or as Eve calls it Air, is the amount of CO2 produced or captured by a company.

Conservation or Animals for short, how much does this company care for animal welfare.

Waste or Land & Sea on Eve’s website, the volume of rubbish produced by the company, can it be recycled etc.

Humanitarian or People to Eve, how does the company care for everyone in its supply chain including you the consumer.

Ingredients or simply Plants is the company using ingredients that are ethical and sustainable.

You the consumer just have to decide which ones most resonate with your morals and look for the right colour leaf/leaves when browsing the reviewed companies on the website. Wanting to go green shouldn’t be hard or expensive to do, ultimately it’s the masses that need to be converted to the eco options out there and to do that it needs to be simple and affordable.
